R.I.P Spock Star Trek legend Leonard Nimoy loses battle for life aged 83

The actor famous for playing Mr Spock confirmed recently that he had a major lung disease after 30 years of smoking.

Leonard died on Friday morning at his home in Bel air, LA after suffering with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

He was rushed to hospital last week suffering from severe chest pains.

The 83-year-old actor, famous for playing the sci-fi show’s Mr Spock, has been in and out of hospitals multiple times.

Leonard wrote on February 22: "A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP."

COPD stands for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, which obstructs sufferers’ breathing.

Recently the actor looked frail as he was pictured being wheeled through JFK airport using an oxygen.
